Jeremy D. Popkin

Jeremy D. Popkin is an emeritus professor of history at the University of Kentucky, where he held the William T. Bryan Chair. His latest book, The First Emancipation: The Forgotten History of Abolition in Revolutionary France (Princeton University Press), is out this spring. His biography of Rebecca Gratz’s brother Benjamin Gratz is forthcoming from the University Press of Kentucky.
