Elliot N. Dorff

Elliot N. Dorff is rector and Distinguished Service Professor of Philosophy at American Jewish University in Los Angeles, dean of its rabbinical school from 1971–1994, visiting professor at UCLA School of Law since 1974, chair of the Conservative movement’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards since 2007, and author of 11 books and over 200 articles on Jewish thought, law, and ethics, as well as the editor of an additional 13 books on those subjects.
